Hello! A little bit about myself. I grew up in Minnesota and moved to San Diego after I graduated from college and got married. I have lived in Clairemont for about 30 years and have been teaching in San Diego for 26. I have a BA in Social Sciences with a concentration in political science from the University of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Mn. I also have a Master's in teaching English to speakers of other languages (MATESOL) from Alliant University.
I speak Spanish and love to learn about and experience other cultures. I have taught ESL for most of my career and especially enjoy teaching newcomers and refugees. I have taught both at the middle and high school levels.

I approach life and education from a growth mindset. Mistakes and failures are a part of life and necessary in order to learn and move forward. I believe that most problems can be avoided through open communication and welcome it from my students and their parents. Please never hesitate to approach me on any issues that may arise. I believe in working through things and finding solutions to problems. I am a very reasonable person and strive to approach all areas of my life from a perspective of fairness and justice. I am human and also make mistakes, so I welcome your input when appropriate. It takes a village to raise a child and as a teacher, I believe we are on the same team.
