Art is an exciting semester long elective. The beginning art class is an elective where students learn how to combine the basic art elements to design original and unique creations. Students learn about elements of design: line, shape, form, value, color, and texture and apply their learning through various artistic projects. They will learn how to creatively use variety of media: watercolors, pastels (both oil and soft), pencils, charcoal, and mixed media. They will also dive into a variety of other hands on artistic endeavors, such as weaving, sewing, clay, and sculpture. At the end of the semester, students have two weeks to use all of their knowledge to create and present an original piece of art. Art is taught by Ms. Schwartz
