Robotics

Marston’s Robotics Club is run through our Advisory Exploration Program. Students in the Robotics Exploration will begin with basic learning missions that include instructions on how to build and program a robot using LEGOs and EV3 Mindstorms Programming Software. Students can then move on to Advanced Robotics where they learn how to use the skills from the Learning Missions to program a robot to complete a variety of missions in a robot game similar to what we do during our competitive season.

Interested 6th & 7th Grade students that have completed both Beginning Robotics and Advanced Robotics can apply to be on Marston’s Competitive FIRST LEGO League Robotics team. The season typically runs from August to November. Students selected to be on the team stay in the Robotics Advisory during that time period while preparing for a practice Marston tournament that determines which teams move on to the Southern California Qualifying Tournament, typically in November. The Qualifying Tournament determines which teams move on the So. Cal. FLL Championships, typically in December.
