My name is Alex Nguyen. This is my twentieth year at Marston. I have had various titles since moving to Marston. I was a peer coach, literacy administrator, 6th grade teacher and now the vice principal. I love working with middle school students. I learn new things every day by interacting with them.
I grew up in Vietnam until the age of 8. My mother, sister and I reunited with my dad six years after he left Vietnam. We lived in Kansas for seven years before moving to San Diego. I graduated from Crawford High School. From there, I went to San Diego State University where I received a bachelor degree in International Business with emphasis in French and Western European Studies, teaching credentials in French and Business, master degree in Curriculum and Instructional Development Secondary Level and administrative credential. I spent my junior year at SDSU studying in France. I speak three languages-Vietnamese, English and French.
I enjoy working at the middle school level. Marston is a great place to work because the staff here has built a strong community to support all types of students. I have been at Marston since 2000. I couldn’t imagine working anywhere else. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call.
When not working, I enjoy traveling and hiking with my husband and two children, reading, walking, watching and supporting the Padres and my kids’ swim team and spending time with my family.
I would like to meet all of you. Come by my office and say “hi” when you are at school. You may contact me at (858) 810-7500.
Sincerely,
Ms. Alex Nguyen
Vice Principal
